Always dedicated to its incredible arts and culture, Alexandria will welcome back the 12th annual King Street Art Festival this fall, which transforms the city’s historic main street into a world-class outdoor art gallery. Festival booths line King Street between Washington and Union streets, featuring over six blocks of artwork by more than 200 artists from the US and abroad.

Papal Parade Sept. 23, 11am
The parade will begin around 11:00 a.m. and is free and open to the public on a first-come first-serve basis. However, spectators will need to pass through security, with gates opening for the Ellipse and the National Mall at 4:00 a.m. on September 23 and closing at 10:00 a.m. No one will be admitted into the area after that point in time. No food or drink may be brought in from the outside, but concessions will be available for purchase. Once inside the perimeter, attendees will not be allowed to leave and re-enter until the Holy Father’s Popemobile parade is complete.
