Anchorman Exhibit at The Newseum; Ongoing Exhibit, $22
More than 60 costumes and hilarious props from the movie are on display throughout the exhibit, including fictional newscaster Ron Burgundy’s “I’M #1” license plate, jazz flute and mustache brush. Ron’s iconic burgundy business suit is here too, prominently featured in a revolving glass case.
Thanksgiving Day Swing Dance Party; Thursday November 28th, Free
This festive program at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts features dancing and music by the Tom Cunningham Orchestra with special guest Jean Veloz. Vintage and military dress encouraged—but not required. Free swing dance lessons begin at 6 p.m., followed by a free, evening-long dance party from 7 to 9 p.m.
Ice Skating at the National Gallery of Art; Ongoing, $7
The National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden Ice Rink is open mid-November through mid-March, weather permitting. View magnificent works of sculpture while skating in the open air and enjoying music from the state-of-the-art sound system.

Capitol Christmas Tree Lighting, Tuesday December 3rd at 5:00pm, Free
This year’s tree is an Engelmann spruce from the Newport Ranger District of the Colville National Forest in Washington State. It was harvested on November 1, and is currently traveling from Washington across the country; making stops in 22 communities along the way. After it arrives at the U.S. Capitol and is secured in the ground on the East side of the U.S. Capitol Building, the tree will be decorated with thousands of ornaments, handcrafted by Washingtonians to reflect this year’s theme, “Sharing Washington’s Good Nature,” which highlights the state’s historical, cultural, and natural beauty.

Come celebrate the 91st annual National Christmas Tree lighting in front of the White House this year. Be sure to arrive early to get a good space!
Alexandria Boat Parade of Lights, Saturday December 7th at 5:00pm, Free
Watch from the Southwest D.C. waterfront as Santa and a plethora of festive boats light up the Potomac River in this annual D.C. staple.

Christmas Story Fall Film Series at the National Gallery of Art, Saturday December 14th at 10:30am and Sunday December 15th at 11:30am, Free
This animated film portrays the old German story of St. Nicholas and how he came to deliver gifts to boys and girls around the world on Christmas.
