Interns should have excellent written and oral communication skills. You will contribute to the office by performing duties such as answering the phone, writing constituent mail, attending hearings and briefings, scheduling tours for constituents from the 53rd Congressional District, and doing odd jobs for the staff such as research and data entry. We want you to get involved in the day-to-day operation of our office and encourage you to take full advantage of this opportunity to explore Capitol Hill, network, and see the federal government in action.
Internships are available throughout the year based on your school schedule. Our internships are unpaid but they may fulfill college credits. Students who are from San Diego will be given priority consideration, but anyone who is interested is welcome to apply! Please email a resume and a one-page cover letter tomike.mclaughlin@mail.house.gov.
