Free Big Five Memorials Walking Tour (Friday, June 22 and Saturday June 23-2pm) Come see the essential monuments of Washington, D.C., on a guided tour: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Franklin Roosevelt, Martin Luther King Jr., and Abraham Lincoln.  Meet in front of the Jefferson Memorial. Smithsonian Metro, south side of Tidal Basin. FREE!

20th Annual Safeway Barbecue Battle (11am-10pm Saturday, June 23& Sunday June 24)
Enjoy some delicious barbecue from chefs around the country and listen to some summer music,  all while supporting the Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of America (Tickets $12, food sold separately).  Event located on Pennsylvania Avenue NW between 9th and 14th streets. Federal Triangle, Metro Center, Gallery Place Metro.

Jazz in The Garden (Every Friday, 5pm-8:30pm)
Relax and enjoy listening to some jazz in the Sculpture Garden of the National Gallery of Art. Enjoy BBQ, cool beverages, and a massive fountain that doubles as the ice skating rink in winter. Archives Metro.  FREE!

The Art of Video Games (open daily till 7pm)
Check out one of the coolest exhibits in town and become an expert on video games.  Exhibit held on the 3rd floor  of the American Art Museum. This amazing building was the old Patent Office Building and the site of President Lincoln’s second inaugural ball on March 6th, 1865.Gallery Place Metro.  FREE!

Capitol Riverfront Screening of The Lost Ark (Thursday, June 28-8:45pm)
Watch The Lost Ark outside and experience Washington on a summer night.  Located at Tingey Plaza.  Navy Yard Metro. FREE!

Kayak Rental – See Washington from a whole new angle: on the water!  (8am-8pm on weekends) Come to Jack’s Boathouse where you can rent kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, and canoes by the hour.  Located on 3500 K ST. NW.  Roslyn Metro.  Kayak/canoe $14/hour; stand-up paddle board $25/hour.

Sunsets With the Capitol (Friday, June 22-8pm) Listen to the beautiful sounds of the Army’s own band on the West Steps of the U.S. Capitol.  FREE!
