Verizon Center is a busy place this time of year. It is the home of the Washington Capitals, Wizards and plays host to Georgetown University Basketball team.

Eastern Market is also a popular destination on the weekends. DC’s oldest fresh food public market become DC’s favorite weekend destination for great food, community events, local farm fresh produce, music, antiques, and handmade arts & crafts.Eastern Market is on 7th St. SE between Pennsylvania & Independence Avenues.
The Smithsonian Institution —the world’s largest museum and research complex—includes 19 museums and galleries and the National Zoological Park. Most Smithsonian Museums and the National Zoo are FREE and open to the public. Here are some free tours at the National Gallery of Art this month to get you started!
