Career Night: From Internship to Employment Panelists!

Jonathan McGee serves as Director of Recruitment and Enrollment for the Graduate School of Political Management, the first and foremost school of applied politics, advocacy, and communications. He previously worked as a Legislative Assistant for Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson (TX-30), Ranking Member on the House Committee for Science, Space, and Technology. Before joining Rep. Johnson’s office, Jonathan worked at The Partnership for Public Service, The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars, and interned at the United States Department of Interior. He also holds a master’s degree from The Graduate School of Political Management.

Meghan Schwork currently serves as Development Program Manager at the World Food Program USA, a nonprofit that mobilizes U.S. support to solve global hunger. Prior to this, Meghan worked on Capitol Hill as a scheduler for United States Representative Henry Cuellar. Meghan interned with CBS News: Washington Unplugged through the Glenn College’s Washington Academic Internship Program (WAIP) in 2011. She also interned on the Hill in Representative John Boccieri’s office, and for Senator Sherrod Brown. Meghan holds a B.A. in Political Science from The Ohio State University.

Nico Samuels Campbell is a young professional from Houston Texas. He attended the University of Houston where he majored in Criminal Justice and minored in Event Management and Marketing. When he first moved to DC, he interned for Washington Intern Student Housing (WISH). Currently Nico is the Executive Conferencing and Event Planning Assistant at the Center for Strategic and International studies (CSIS). The CSIS is one of the world’s preeminent international policy institutions focused on defense and security; regional study; and transnational challenges ranging from energy and trade to global development and economic integration. Nico organizes around 2,000 events a year for the CSIS, which includes high-level guests from the United States Agency.

Anna Newton is from Sevierville, Tennessee. She graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Arts in History. Anna had two internships during college that provided her with the experience she needed to be where she is today. She had a summer internship with Congressman Phil Roe in his Washington, DC Office and while attending school, she had an internship with Senator Bob Corker in his Knoxville, Tennessee office. Currently, Anna Newton is a Constituent Relations Representative for Senator Lamar Alexander. When she is not at work, she enjoys playing/watching sports, watching TV and hanging out with friends.

Steven Lucas is a Dreamer in Action with a career in international development focusing on low income and emerging markets. He began his career as a volunteer intern, transitioned into the Pathways Program, and now exploring the vast opportunities a career in international affairs has to offer at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation as a Portfolio Monitoring Specialist. He is the Director of Social Media on the National Leadership Team for Young Government Leaders (YGL). Steven enjoys public speaking and self-published his first volume of speeches entitled No Signals Volume I: Break the Mold in 2016. He holds a BBA from the University of Mississippi with a focus in Real Estate & Managerial Finance and a Masters in International Management from the University of Maryland University College.
