Nation to Nation: Treaties Between the United States and American Indian Nations

“Nation to Nation” presents the story of the treaties that lie at the heart of the relationship between Indian Nations and the United States. The story includes the history and legacy of U.S. and American Indian diplomacy from the colonial period through the present.

The exhibition features more than 125 objects from the museum’s collection and other lenders including original treaties, archival photographs, wampum belts, textiles, baskets and peace medals.

Art All Night : Nuit Blanche DC is an all-night exploration and celebration of contemporary art, encompassing five of DC’s most vibrant neighborhoods: Dupont Circle, Shaw, North Capitol, H Street NE, and Congress Heights.Watch as DC’s creative community re-imagines public and private space and invites us all to see our city anew. Indoor and outdoor venues will showcase work by artists in a diverse range of media – with vibrant visual arts, street performances, live music, and DJs contributing to an unprecedented mash-up of cultural experiences in the nation’s capital.With this festival, Washington DC joins a global network of Nuit Blanche all-night arts events, that started in Paris in 2002 and has captivated audiences from Montreal to Melbourne.*Art All Night: Nuit Blanche DC was founded in 2011 by Ariana Austin, who served as artistic director from 2011 to 2015. Art All Night: Made in DC is a spinoff organized by the DC Main Streets program.

SAVE THE DATE! The 2017 Washingtonian Taste of Georgetown, presented byInfiniti, will be held on Sunday, September 24!

Washington, D.C.’s most anticipated epicurean festival will be celebrating its 24th year with creative tastes from more than 30 of the neighborhood’s best restaurants. This year, guests will be able to enjoy beer and wine as they stroll from booth to booth. This foodie event takes place in the heart of Georgetown, on K Street NW, between Wisconsin Avenue and Thomas Jefferson Street and along the scenic Georgetown Waterfront.

This longstanding event in Georgetown benefits the Georgetown Ministry Center’s mission to support the homeless. The event began over 20 years ago by Grace Episcopal Church in Georgetown and its former Rector David Bird and member Robert Egger, who went on to found DC Central Kitchen.
