Communications consulting firm seeks fall 2013 interns

Rabinowitz/Dorf Communications, a Washington, D.C. media consulting and public affairs firm, specializing in non-profits engaged in advocacy, progressive domestic and foreign policy, human rights, Jewish and ethnic affairs, and research is currently seeking internship candidate applications for the fall 2013 semester.

The internship offers a significant opportunity to work closely with many progressive, non-profit, ethnic, Democratic and international organizations. Rabinowitz/Dorf Communications is a unique firm that focuses on publicizing issues and planning events for clients with a wide range of issues as disparate as human rights, religious freedom, democracy building, women’s health, academic research and the environment, and from the Middle East peace process to domestic American Democratic Party politics.

Given the boutique nature and small size of the firm and the diversity of its client base, interns will be exposed to a broad range of projects in the publicity and public relations field and will be actively engaged in their implementation. Interns will cultivate a working knowledge of the Washington and national political scenes, the pro-Israel and American Jewish communities and – not least of all – the media.

Intern applicants must possess strong written and verbal communications skills with a particular sensitivity to political nuance. A working knowledge of current international and domestic politics and current events is required. Other qualifications include strong administrative and organizational, communication, writing and editing, and Internet research skills. Initiative, enthusiasm, a propensity for original thought, and a sense of humor are essential. The ideal candidates seek careers as political press aides, public relations executives, non-profit communication professionals or reporters.

TIMEFRAME and DEADLINE:

The FALL INTERNSHIP begins in late August/early September.

Applications are due Thursday, August 8. Applicants will be interviewed on a rolling basis as applications are reviewed. Internships can be either part-time or full-time.
