On January 3rd, students from across the globe began checking in at the WISH headquarters, receiving their keys, and moving in.
WISH is so excited to be welcoming students from Hawaii, New York, many states in between, and even Australia for the Spring 2022 semester. There are many exciting and educational activities planned for residents this semester on Capitol Hill. Here is what WISH has in store for January:
WISH Welcome Reception
Over Zoom, students will get a chance to meet their new neighbors and learn more about each other with an interactive map. We’ll also play DC bingo and learn more about the city WISH interns will be living in for the next few months.
Resume & LinkedIn Workshop
Adam Kress, the former director of SUNY Albany’s Semester in Washington program and a seasoned, knowledgeable Washington professional, will host a virtual workshop to help students fine tune their resumes and LinkedIn pages for professional success. Students are encouraged to log on with their resumes at the ready!
Speaker Series with Rep. Charlie Crist
Congressman Charlie Crist (Fl-13) will speak with students over Zoom about having a career in the government and professional development. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and converse with Rep. Crist.
