Interns will work in a fast-paced congressional office, gaining valuable exposure and knowledge of the legislative process and the United States Congress. Intern responsibilities include greeting constituents, managing constituent phone calls, and assisting staff with administrative tasks. Interns will also have the opportunity to conduct legislative research, assist with constituent correspondence, and attend legislative briefings, congressional hearings, receptions, and press events.<\/p>\n
\n<\/em><\/strong>The Washington, D.C. office of Representative Frank Guinta (NH-01) is currently seeking applicants that wish to intern in the Fall of 2015, the internship term runs flexibly from August 31st to December 18th<\/sup>. Internships are available to qualified college students seeking college credit or recent college graduates. Positions are unpaid and serve to provide professional and educational value to participants as well as an understanding of our federal legislative process. New Hampshire or New England ties are preferred, but they are not required. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: providing tours of the Capitol, answering phones, helping staff process constituents\u2019 mail and inquiries. Candidates should possess an interest in the legislative process, strong communication skills, along with a motivation and organization. \nThe Office of Congresswoman Lois Capps (CA-24) is accepting resumes for internships in the Washington, DC office. Interns will be asked to run errands, conduct Capitol Tours, research legislation, attend hearings and briefings, and answer constituent letters on various issues before the House. As a result, interns learn a great deal about the legislative process and the many functions of a congressional office. A good candidate must demonstrate, strong communication skills, knowledge of current events and national issues, the ability to multi-task, a positive attitude and good work ethic, and an interest in public policy. \n<\/u><\/strong>The Robert Lewit Fellowship in Education Policy is available for a two-month period during the summer or the academic year to a student currently engaged in undergraduate or graduate studies at any institution of higher education, with preference given to students of Harvard University. Recent graduates with a strong interest in ACTA’s mission of higher-education reform and an excellent scholarly record may also be considered. Lewit Fellows report to ACTA president Anne D. Neal (Harvard College ’77 and Harvard Law School ’80) and other senior staff. Their projects include research and writing, some of which may be published by ACTA. They play a full part in the research work of ACTA and attend higher-education meetings and conferences as appropriate. Lewit Fellows also participate\u2014along with ACTA summer interns\u2014in a special series of seminars with ACTA staff and board members.<\/p>\n
\n<\/u><\/strong>The American Council of Trustees and Alumni seeks accomplished, high-energy undergraduate, graduate, and professional students with excellent research and communication abilities to apply for spring and summer internships. All fellows and summer interns participate in a special series of seminars with ACTA staff and board members. Spring and summer interns will primarily conduct research for ACTA’s What Will They Learn?\u2122\u00a0project<\/a>. They will also\u00a0write, perform clerical and administrative tasks, and enter data. ACTA interns have provided critical assistance to the full-time staff and have prepared materials that have appeared in nationally-syndicated news stories and have been sent to trustees and alumni across the country. Alumni of the internship program have returned to work at ACTA, and have gone on to work at other Washington area policy organizations. This is a paid internship.<\/p>\n
