However, openings also exist for collections management, library work, documentary editing, publication editing, photo archival work, graphic design and public relations. Under the supervision of a staff member, the intern develops a project for which he or she is responsible for completing during the internship.<\/p>\n<p>A sound academic background is essential, although the subject matter is relatively open. The abilities to work both independently and a part of a team are vital. Dedication, punctuality, and a good sense of humor (to cope with ever changing priorities) are essential.
